30-day Raw Food Fast: Day 9

Last week was fun, wasn't it? You guys liked the 'Bananarama' , the 'Fiji', the 'Green Garana' and some other sweet-type smoothies.
This week, we shall be switching things up a bit because i sense the need to work on your taste buds some more to get you to appreciate the wonderful taste of Chlorophyll rich foods.
Chlorophyll derives from two Greek words - Chloros - green and Phyllon- Leaves.
So the Greeks basically saw 'green leaves' and screamed 'Eureka Chlorosphyllon, or in urban parlance -'OMG F* Green Leaves!
Anyway, Chlorophyll rich food are a great source of folate, which is a B Vitamin that is essential for the rebuilding and replenishing of red blood cells. They are also a great source of Vitamins, K, A, C, E, Iron, Protein, Calcium and Magnesium. Magnesium helps to deliver oxygen to your cells and tissues and is also needed by the brain for it's metabolic function.
Chlorophyll is also great for detoxing your body of mercury and other toxic metals.
Wondering if you might be exposed to that horribly toxic metal called mercury? Well, if you eat fish sourced from the wild open sea or if you have mercury fillings in your teeth (mostly found in the 'gold' and 'silver' fillings), you are definitely exposed to toxic metals such as mercury.
This week's, recipes will be less sweet but hopefully well within your tolerance level.
So let's begin shall we!
