Loose 7lbs in 7days!
If you have tried the Cayenne Pepper diet, the Atkins diet, the Bread-For-Life Diet, the Cabbage Soup diet and the Cambridge diet then you must be as thin as a twig, if not you might need to book yourself into DIETERS ANONYMOUS for some real therapy!
A lot of these diets starve your body of relevant nutrients causing your metabolism to slow down because your body thinks you are starving so it goes into rescue mode. This is why you might not experience any weight loss the first few days. However, if you continue on this diet, your starving body starts breaking down muscle mass and fat into energy to feed your organs with needed energy. The scale shows you have lost some weight and you rejoice- Hallelujah!
The upside is that quick fixes might help you fit into your wedding dress or show-off your fab figure at a reunion, however, the downside is that the moment you stop these diets and start eating your regular meals, your starved body will start to replenish itself and you would find yourself putting on all you had lost and some.
On the other hand, some food cultures start-off with nutrient rich raw materials which are all but lost in the preparation and cooking process. So what happens in this case is that you fill up on deliciously tasting meals that have zero nutrients so your cells wait with baited breathes for nourishment to no avail. A signal then reverberates through your body ‘Starvation continues! Metabolism, please slow down or we will starve to death!’ I can just hear the cells praying- ‘God help us!’ So even though you are not one of the diet fad followers, you might also be starving yourself of well needed nutrients.
Some might say they are happy being overweight but the deal is that if you double your waist circumference and it measures more than your height in inches, you are in the high risk category for diabetes and heart disease. In order words, you are not healthy.
So what is the healthy way to loose weight and keep it off? Eating food in as close to the natural form as possible with very little or no processing involved and making this a lifestyle change and not just a on-off. This way your body gets the nutrients it needs, converts it into energy and ferries this to your organs so that the human machine runs smoothly and you have a healthy metabolic rate.
Salads, fruits, smoothies and juicing are really healthy additions to any diet which brings me to the topic- Loose 7lbs in 7days.
7lbs in 7days is a book/DVD by Jason Vale loaded with juicy juicing recipes and a must buy for anyone serious about maintaining a healthy lifestyle! It is not a new diet fad but all about reforming your food culture to include deliciously tasting juices that could include anything from spinach to papaya and all the fruits and vegetables imaginable in-between.
I discovered Jason a few months ago and in my opinion what he has achieved is phenomenal because I for one would never have imagined juicing Spinach, kale or Celery, but his recipes marry different fruits and vegetables thus producing the most deliciously tasting and filling drinks I have ever had!
The best thing is that research has shown that drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juice can actually aid the healing of every known health malady. I had suffered with Migraine headaches for years and every migraine sufferer knows that the drugs really do not work. One night I had the most debilitating migraine and I could not sleep. At 2:40am, tired of lying in bed, I decided to read through Jason’s Juicing recipes and found a ‘Migraine Miracle’ recipe. Thankfully I had most of the ingredients needed and I juiced them. A miracle happened to me- the migraine headaches disappeared! Yes it did. I was so excited I wrote about this on my Facebook page.
I am so excited about Juicing I want everyone to join in the fun but first you would need some tools:
1. A really good juicer. I use the Philips Alum Juicer because you can get more juice out of it and juice whole fruits.
2. Fresh (preferably organic) fruits and vegetables. (Broccoli, asparagus are natural pest resistant so you do not need to buy organic. Pesticides cannot penetrate Fruits with hard shells like pineapple so you can save your money here too.)
3. A flask you can take out with you.
4. A good juicing book. I recommend Jason Vale’s ‘The Juice Master: over 100 delicious juices and smoothies’ and The Juice Master 7lbs in 7days.
