30-Days Juice Fast: Day 8 recipes
Hi guys,
How did your day go? Today was such a long day for me.
Anyway, I made my juices early this morning but somehow ran out right about midday. At about lunch time (which for me was 2pmish), i went to Costa with a friend and OMG all the sandwiches suddenly started screaming my name in perfect Spanish!
I sat across from my friend with a bottle of innocent orange juice (my compromise) and did not hear a thing she said because i was focused on fighting the temptation to reach across the table and grab her sandwich!
However, I did not do that. I simply smiled, listened and continued sipping my juice. So, I am proud to announce, to all lovers of food like me, that i walked away from those sandwiches with my integrity intact, thank you!
The fact is that sandwiches will always be there- they are not going to suddenly decide to relocate to Mars! They will wait patiently for me on the other side of this juice fast. So, see ya later Costa Sandwiches!
On that note, here are Day 8 recipes -
What you would need:
1. Time – obviously
2. A Juicer or/ a smoothie maker (a good blender if no smoothie
maker)
3. A chopping board (optional)
4. Knives (optional)
5. Water
6. Apple cider vinegar (to wash fruits and vegetables. See:
‘30-Day Juice Fast: Day 1- Mind Prep!’ post sent on 28th of Feb.
2013 for veggie washer recipe.)
Fruits and Veggies needed for the day: 3 bananas, 7 apples, 2 cups of
pineapple, 2 celery sticks, 2-4 inches of lemon, 4 handful of mixed green
leaves, 2 stems of broccoli, 4 carrots, 4 inches of Zucchini, 1 cups of red
grapes, 3 oranges, 3 medium sized grape fruits, 1 cup of strawberries, 1 small
avocado pear, a bag of peppermint tea (optional) and I small handful of fresh
mint.
Recipes:
7 am
Warm water with Lemon
slices Or Have a mug of peppermint tea or a glass of grapefruit juice (squeeze
3 medium sized grapefruits to make 1 glass of juice)
(This is a great way
to start cleansing your gut. Lemon helps get rid of mucous and helps keep
bacteria at bay. SO say –‘good morning gut’.
8am and 11am
Am- 3 apples, 2
carrots, 1 handful of spinach or green leaves of your choosing, 2 stems of
broccoli, 1 inch slice of lemon with rind off and 1 inch fresh
ginger(optional).
Juice the lot.
2pm
PM - 3 handfuls of spinach
or green leaves of your choosing, 1 cup of pineapple, 4 inches of courgette (zucchini),
1 celery stick and 1 inch slice of lemon without the rind.
3pm
PM - 4 apple, 2
carrots, 1 small handful of fresh mint leaves and ½ an inch of ginger
Juice the lot.
5pm
PM – 1 small avocado
pear, 3 bananas, 1 cup of strawberries and 3 oranges.
Peel the oranges and
juice them. If you have a citrus squeezer then you, obviously, do not have to
peel the orange.
Toss everything into
a blender and blend until smooth.
Enjoy!
7pm
Lullaby –1 cup of
pineapple, 1 cup of red grapes, 1 celery stick, 1 inch of lemon.
Juice the lot.
